The power and purpose of imagination:

What a colorful desert experience one has by taking this musical journey with Inner Journeys. Flashfloods, lightning, stars, darkness, heat, and creatures dancing in the heat of the true nature of jazz. There is always a sense of space, freedom, intensity, patience and color in this music – remarkably, because these elements don’t often appear together on conventional musical menus. But, this is a specially cooked meal with a delightful and unique array of flavors. I hear no clichés emerging from this band – each chord, melody, rhythm and texture is inspired, personal and relevant to the story being told. This is not music of the commercial marketplace, but of the deep soul, and of a hard-earned communal consciousness. Yet, I am never asked to endure pretentious self-serious artistic nonsense. These artists are playful, visceral, exciting, down to earth, and fun to listen to – serious fun – deep, true, passionate, honest music. Bravo and thank you for this gift of real music of the highest order. Astounding, beautiful, wild – it reminds us of the power and purpose of improvisation; to electrify the imagination and uplift the spirit.
